Interview with Paul Satur, research fellow and lecturer at Monash Water Sensitive Cities and co-founder and CEO of Our Future Cities. We talk about his vision for the future of cities, urban status quos, sustainability, institutional mini-meism, and many more.

Dr. Paul Satur is the Co-Fonder and CEO of not for profit Our Future Cities (OFC). OFC seeks to broaden the dialogue in city shaping, encouraging people of diverse backgrounds, skill-sets and experiences to play a role in fast tracking sustainable transitions, through building deep and diverse connections with people and places. Paul is also an early career environmental and social science researcher within Monash Sustainable Development Institute’s Water Unit. His expertise is regularly sought for guidance on transformative systems processes, pathways and practices that best enable an empowerment and capacity building of diverse stakeholder groups in place-based and Integrated Water Planning and Management processes. Recently, Paul was recognized as the 2020 Australian Young Water Professional of the Year and through his work with OFC received the Stormwater Australian Award for Impact in Education and Policy. Paul currently sits on the International Water Resource Associations Task Force for Water and the SDGs, is a member of the National SDG6 Reference Group and continues to lead a number of multi-stakeholder initiatives that offer a voice to marginalized and traditionally less-heard groups in spaces of complex socio-ecological change. In his spare time, Paul is a punk music tragic, keen surfer and volunteers as a community radio broadcaster.
